A fact from Flor Contemplacion appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 12 July 2004. The text of the entry was as follows:
What does the harsh punishment Filipino overseas workers face when they totally break down from their jobs. mean? RickK 06:12, Jul 11, 2004 (UTC)
Well, for female domestic overseas workers (or maids), there has been incidents where the worker agencies beat up maids as a punishment. The sentence could also be taken to mean the incapability and in turn unemployment of the maid. Most of them have to work to support their families in theit homeland. It ain't an easy job... --Andylkl 19:10, 13 Nov 2004 (UTC)
One would think that murder is a crime that would entail harsh punishment, break down or no. Limkopi 07:45, 30 Jun 2006 (UTC)
Intro: "...was a Filipina domestic worker who was executed in Singapore for suicide." - Shouldn't this be "homicide" as she was executed for allegedly having murdered them? --Antihelios (talk) 11:13, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You are right, this was vandalism. If you see something like this in an article it is probably vandalism, so fix it. If you check the history of the page you often find a recent anonymous edit. PatGallacher (talk) 11:31, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
